Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) Applications are complete, prebuilt BI solutions that deliver intuitive, role-based intelligence for everyone in an organization from front line employees to senior management that enable better decisions, actions, and business processes. Designed for heterogeneous environments, these solutions enable organizations to gain insight from a range of data sources and applications including Siebel, Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, and third party systems such as SAP.
Oracle BI Applications are built on the Oracle BI Suite Enterprise Edition, a comprehensive, innovative, and leading BI platform. This enables organizations to realize the value of a packaged BI Application, such as rapid deployment, lower TCO, and built-in best practices, while also being able to very easily extend those solutions to meet their specific needs, or build completely custom BI applications, all on one common BI architecture.

Hi Wes Suits,
start with installation and then configuration for single module (HRMS or Procurement).
While during installation & configuration u will learn a lot.
there are two tracks or sets of BI Apps. one is 7.9.x version track and other one is Bi Apps fusion track.
BI Apps fusion supports EBS Fusion source system and also you will have more dashboards & reports in BI Apps 11.1.x fusion.
If you follow 1st option (BI Apps 7.9.6.x track) you need 3 servers (can be physical or virtual servers) 1st server: Data warehouse (database where all data dump to here from source) 2nd ETL server (which needs Informatica 9.0 And DAC ) 3rd server is BI Server (weblogic, obiee & BI Apps) goes into this box.
1- Oracle database 11.2.x ( bi apps also support other database too)
2- Weblogic server 10.3.5 (depends on BI Obiee version check certification matrix)

4- OBIEE 11.1.1.7
5- BI Apps 7.9.6.4 or other version 7.9.6.x

7- DAC
2nd track BI Apps Fusion track (BI Apps 11.1.1.x)
This track needs 2 servers. One for Data warehouse and 2nd server is for obiee + weblogic + BIApps + ODI
Following software you need to download for BI APPS fusion track (11.1.1.x)
1- Oracle database 11.2.1.3 ( bi apps also support other database too)
